Award-winning Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah has responded to critics who believe his influence in the movie industry is fading, insisting that his recent success proves he remains one of the country's leading performers.
The actor, popularly known as Lil Win, made the remarks after winning the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards.
Speaking in an interview sighted by Graphic Showbiz, Lil Win said attempts by some industry players to write him off have failed, arguing that his achievements continue to speak for themselves.
According to him, his career legacy is firmly established and will continue to endure for generations, just as the names of notable biblical figures have survived throughout history.
"Some people wanted to sideline me and claimed my time in the industry was over, but I believe my impact will remain for a very long time," he said.
The actor referenced biblical personalities such as Paul, Joseph, Ezekiel, Job and Moses, saying their names remain widely known centuries later and expressing confidence that his own contribution to Ghana's entertainment industry will be similarly remembered.
Lil Win further suggested that his latest award validates his position among the country's top actors, maintaining that talent and performance remain the ultimate measures of success in the industry.
He also appeared to draw a distinction between traditional acting and content creation, cautioning against equating online popularity with acting excellence.
According to him, genuine recognition in the film industry is earned through consistent quality performances rather than social media influence alone.
The Kumawood star's comments have sparked conversations among fans and industry observers about longevity, relevance and the evolving nature of Ghana's entertainment landscape.
With another major award now added to his collection, Lil Win believes his latest achievement serves as a reminder that he remains a significant force in the country's film industry despite claims to the contrary.
