Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has ignited public discussion after revealing that some married women are increasingly turning to sex toys to help maintain intimacy in their marriages, particularly when their spouses spend extended periods away from home.
Speaking on Adom FM, she said many women have approached her to discuss challenges in their relationships, including how they manage intimacy when their husbands frequently travel for work.
According to her, several of these women have indicated that the use of sex toys helps them remain committed to their marriages rather than seeking intimacy elsewhere.
"Many of the women who speak to me about this issue are married. Some say their husbands travel often for work, and because they do not want to be promiscuous, they resort to such alternatives," she explained.
Nana Yaa Jantuah disclosed that she was initially unfamiliar with sex toys until a woman explained the concept to her during a conversation.
"I had never seen one before and did not even know what it looked like," she said.
She noted that following that encounter, she became more aware of discussions surrounding sex toys and their role in relationships.
"The first person who spoke to me about it explained what it was because I told her I did not know what it looked like. Since then, I have heard many conversations on the subject," she added.
Beyond the issue of sex toys, Nana Yaa Jantuah stressed the importance of open conversations about sex and intimacy, arguing that such discussions can strengthen relationships and provide young people with accurate information.
She cautioned that when parents fail to educate their children about sex at home, they may turn elsewhere for information, which could expose them to misinformation.
Her remarks have since sparked debate about sex education, intimacy in marriage, and the role of sexual wellness products in modern relationships.
