Ghanaian afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy has been awarded the Ghana Police Badge of Service by the Ghana Police Service, making him one of the few civilians to receive the distinguished recognition.

The award was announced by the artiste in a post shared on X on May 19, 2026. Videos accompanying the post captured Stonebwoy in the company of Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno and other senior police officers during what appeared to be an official presentation ceremony.

Reacting to the honour, Stonebwoy described the recognition as a symbol of the connection between service, discipline and positive influence in society.

“A true symbol of service is not only to protect a nation with power but also to protect its spirit with purpose. I received the Ghana Police Badge of Service with integrity as a reminder that influence, discipline, culture, and service can walk hand in hand,” he wrote.

The award-winning musician also expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police and the entire Ghana Police Service for acknowledging his contributions.

“Deep appreciation to the Inspector General of Ghana Police, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno and the entire Police Service for this honour, recognition, and trust. For the people. For the youth. For the motherland,” he added.

The Ghana Police Badge of Service is an honorary award presented to civilians who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to public service, contributed significantly to society, or supported the work of law enforcement.

Although recipients do not receive any policing powers or authority, the badge serves as a mark of recognition and appreciation from the police administration.
