Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has issued a stern ultimatum to unmarried pastors serving under her ministry, warning that they could be demoted if they fail to get married before the end of the year.
Speaking during a church service, the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry expressed concern about the growing number of unmarried pastors within her church and stressed the importance of marriage among church leaders.
According to Nana Agradaa, pastors have six months to settle down and start families, arguing that spiritual leaders should set a good example for their congregations.
“I am giving you until the end of the year. If you are a pastor and you have not gotten married, I will demote you,” she declared before the congregation.
The controversial evangelist explained that it is inappropriate for pastors to remain unmarried while allegedly engaging in sexual relationships. She maintained that church leaders must uphold high moral standards and demonstrate responsible lifestyles that align with the teachings they preach.
Her comments have since sparked discussions among church members and the public, with some supporting her stance on accountability among religious leaders, while others have questioned whether marriage should be a requirement for pastoral leadership.
Nana Agradaa's directive adds to the ongoing debate about the role of personal lifestyle choices in religious leadership and the expectations placed on pastors by church authorities.
It remains to be seen how pastors under her ministry will respond to the ultimatum as the year-end deadline approaches.
