The legal troubles facing evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, have deepened after PeaceWorkGhana, a non-governmental organisation, filed a lawsuit against her over alleged defamatory bribery accusations.

In a video circulating on social media and cited by GhanaWeb, a representative of the NGO explained that their involvement with Agradaa began while they were assisting Sarah Gold, a woman who claims she was defrauded after taking a pot of gold to Agradaa’s church for spiritual prayers and blessings.

According to the representative, Agradaa later publicly alleged that PeaceWorkGhana had accepted money from her to be delivered to former Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare.

The representative denied the accusation, stating that she had never met Agradaa at the time the alleged transaction was said to have occurred.

“She claimed on her social media platforms that while she was being held at the Chorkor Police cells, she gave me GH¢200,000 to hand over to former IGP Dr George Akuffo Dampare. That allegation is completely false because I had never met her at that time,” she said.

She explained that her first encounter with Agradaa occurred during a meeting at the office of businessman and politician Kennedy Agyapong, where she had accompanied Sarah Gold to engage with members of Agradaa’s team.

According to her, Agradaa attempted to offer her GH¢1,500 during the meeting, but she declined the money.

The NGO maintains that the bribery allegations are untrue and have caused significant reputational damage.

“I have no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding her arrest or the period she spent in the Chorkor Police cells. The allegations are false and have negatively affected the image of our organisation. That is why I decided to seek legal redress. Since August 2024, however, she has repeatedly failed to appear before the court,” the representative stated.

After several months of delays, the court has reportedly approved the consolidation of the case in Accra for further proceedings.

The latest lawsuit adds another chapter to Agradaa’s ongoing dispute with Sarah Gold, who has consistently accused the evangelist of taking possession of her family’s gold under false pretences.
