Ghanaian actress Emelia Brobbey has responded to allegations made by veteran actor Paa George that she neglected him despite his early support in her acting career.

The issue resurfaced following comedian Dr Likee’s successful concert at the Indigo O2 in the United Kingdom, where Emelia Brobbey addressed the matter in an interview.

Paa George had earlier claimed that Emelia stopped taking his calls during difficult times, despite what he described as his support during the early stages of her career.

However, Emelia Brobbey has dismissed the allegations, insisting that she has consistently supported the veteran actor financially over the years. She explained that the misunderstanding may have stemmed from her relocation to the United Kingdom, which affected their communication.

According to her, the distance and her busy schedule made it difficult to stay in regular contact, which may have led to frustration on Paa George’s part.

“Regarding Paa George’s issue, I used to send him money whenever he called me. But I’m sure he couldn’t reach me after I relocated to the UK,” she said.

Emelia further stated that Paa George later apologised after publicly claiming on radio that she had abandoned him, adding that she continued to support him even after the apology.

“After he said on radio that I don’t give him money, he came back to apologise and said he had forgotten himself. After that, I sent him money twice,” she said.

She also revealed that she supported him again during his birthday in May 2026.

“When I travelled to Ghana, he told me May 9 was his birthday, so I sent him money and he thanked me,” she added.

Expressing disappointment over the situation, Emelia said it was hurtful to be accused despite her continued support.

“It’s painful when you’ve been helping someone financially, yet you are singled out because they couldn’t reach you. I even assist strangers,” she said.
