Veteran Nollywood actor and musician Harry B Anyanwu has described President John Dramani Mahama as the best leader in Africa at the moment, praising his leadership and urging other African presidents to emulate him.
According to the Nigerian actor, President Mahama is demonstrating the kind of leadership expected from African heads of state.
“Mahama is the best in Africa. He is doing what other presidents are supposed to do, let them copy him; the man is good,” he said.
Harry Anyanwu made the comments while on location in Ghana, where he is part of a Nigerian cast working on a new movie with Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin.
The movie, A Journey to Africa, is being filmed at Nzulezu in Ghana’s Western Region and features a blend of notable actors from Ghana and Nigeria.
While on set, LilWin told the Nigerian actors that he would have arranged a visit to the Flagstaff House to meet President Mahama if the distance between Nzulezu and Accra had not been a challenge.
He, however, promised to facilitate a meeting between the actors and President Mahama when they return to Ghana for the premiere of the movie.
The production features several prominent Nollywood stars, including Kanayo O Kanayo, Patience Ozokwo, Mike Ezuruonye, Charles Awurum, Zubby Michael, Destiny Etiko and Harry Anyanwu.
The project represents another major collaboration between Ghana’s and Nigeria’s film industries, bringing some of Nollywood’s well-known actors to Ghana for LilWin’s international production, Journey to Africa (Nzulezu).
