Former Member of Parliament for Bantama, Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has disclosed that he left Germany for Ghana decades ago with a clear vision of pursuing a career in politics and public service.

Speaking about his journey, Dr. Kokofu revealed that before departing Germany, where he had close ties with the renowned Ghanaian music duo Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba, he told them of his ambition to one day become part of Ghana's leadership.

"When I left the Lumba Brothers, Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba, in Germany and returned to Ghana, I told them that within 30 years, I would be among those governing the country," he recounted.

According to Dr. Kokofu, his decision to return to Ghana was driven by a strong desire to contribute to national development through politics rather than pursue opportunities abroad.

Over the years, he went on to realize part of that ambition, serving as the Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency and holding various leadership positions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
