Ghanaian actor Mr Beautiful has spoken publicly about the end of his marriage, disclosing that he is now divorced following what he describes as a deeply painful personal experience.
Speaking on Emelia Brobbey’s talk show, the actor said that contrary to public belief, he was once married, but the union eventually broke down.
He explained that the issues began after he introduced a friend to his wife, a decision he believes set off a chain of events that contributed to the collapse of the marriage.
According to him, the relationship between his wife and the friend he introduced created misunderstandings that gradually escalated into serious marital conflict.
Mr Beautiful alleged that the individual went on to influence his marriage negatively by spreading false narratives, which further strained his relationship with his then-wife.
He said the experience has left him disillusioned, adding that it has affected his trust in people, particularly Christians, whom he believes were involved in the incident.
“I befriended someone whom I introduced to my wife, and the two of them ended my marriage. The person is a Christian, and that has left me with a deep scar,” he said.
He further noted that the experience has shaped his outlook on relationships, stating that he now feels more comfortable trusting Muslims and people from northern Ghana compared to Christians.
Despite the divorce, Mr Beautiful revealed that he and his ex-wife remain on good terms and continue to maintain regular communication.
He said they still speak frequently, share jokes, and maintain a friendly relationship, noting that they had even spoken twice on the morning of the interview.
“My wife and I are very good friends. We speak every day on the phone. We joke and laugh together. In fact, we have spoken twice this morning,” he said.
However, he made it clear that there is no possibility of reconciliation, stressing that the marriage breakdown was final.
