Actress Fella Makafui has responded to claims made by actor John Bredu Peasah, popularly knownas Drogba, that she failed to personally support him after he was diagnosed with a serious health condition.

In an interview published on May 29, 2026, Drogba alleged that although news of his illness became widely known, Fella Makafui did not directly contact him in the early stages of his condition. According to him, the actress instead reached out to actor Jeffery Nortey to enquire about his wellbeing.

Drogba claimed that Jeffery Nortey was surprised by the move because Fella already had his personal contact details. He further stated that she later contacted him using a different phone number and asked when he would be available, but did not follow up after he responded.

“Fella Makafui hasn’t reached out. When the thing came, she reached out to Jeffery Nortey. She has my number, so Jeffery Nortey was surprised. Later, she reached out to me with a different number and asked me when I was free. I told her I am always free, and since then, I haven’t heard from her,” he said.

The actor also disclosed that he had sought assistance from several personalities in the film industry, including Salma Mumin, Kisa Gbekle and John Dumelo, but claimed he had not received support from them.

Responding to the allegations, Fella Makafui denied suggestions that she had been absent during his difficult period. Commenting under a TikTok post featuring excerpts of the interview, the actress said she was surprised by the claims and maintained that she and Drogba had been in contact recently.

“I hope this video is not new because that will be surprising. We’ve been communicating lately, for anyone asking,” she wrote.

Drogba, widely known for his role in the television series You Only Live Once (YOLO), was diagnosed with a demyelinating disease in March 2024. The condition affects the protective covering of nerve fibres and can result in symptoms such as vision impairment, chronic pain and breathing difficulties.

The actor has since been receiving treatment and launched a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising $280,000 to support medical care abroad.
