A married woman has accused her husband of subjecting her to repeated abuse and neglect, which she claims resulted in the loss of her pregnancy.
Speaking on Oyerepa Afutuo with Auntie Naa on Monday, May 18, 2026, the woman, identified as Fulera, alleged that her husband, Nasiru, had been mistreating her in their matrimonial home.
According to Fulera, the incident began after her husband returned home from work and discovered that his phone number had been written on the wall of their room. She said he questioned both of his wives about who wrote it, but neither admitted responsibility.
She alleged that her husband then ordered both women to remain outside until someone confessed.
Fulera stated that while attempting to enter the room to retrieve her phone as her husband was locking the door, he allegedly pushed her, causing her stomach to hit a chair. She said the impact resulted in severe bleeding.
According to her, doctors at the hospital later confirmed that she had suffered a miscarriage. However, she claimed she concealed the true cause of the incident from medical personnel.
“I lied to protect my husband because I do not like people knowing about my private issues. I am even shy speaking publicly, and I also did not have money to pursue a police case,” she said.
Fulera alleged that although the bleeding initially stopped for a few days, it later resumed and continued for 22 days. She claimed that despite her condition, her husband failed to take her back to the hospital and instead gave her herbal mixtures while the bleeding persisted.
She further stated that when her condition worsened, she sought financial assistance from outsiders to return to the hospital, where scans allegedly revealed that she had been carrying twins. According to her, one baby was lost during the miscarriage while the second died in the womb.
Doctors reportedly recommended immediate surgery, but Fulera claimed her husband instructed her to follow alternative directives instead of prioritising medical treatment.
She later underwent a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure.
Fulera also alleged that the mistreatment worsened after the first wife gave birth.
According to her, when she informed her family about the situation, they advised her to remain silent and focus on her safety.
“My family told me to keep quiet and think about my own life if I value it. They said the children belong to him, so if they die, that is his problem,” she recounted.
Despite the challenges, Fulera said she has decided to remain in the marriage and concentrate on caring for her children, although she claims her husband now wants her to leave the house.
She is therefore seeking the intervention of Auntie Naa and her team to help address the matter.
